Absolutely, beginner classes are built around pad work, bag work and conditioning. You won't spar until you've got the fundamentals down, and sparring always stays technical and coach-supervised.
What gear do I need to start Muay Thai?
Comfortable athletic clothes are enough for your first session. Most gyms lend gloves. As you progress you'll want hand wraps, 12–16 oz gloves, shin guards and a mouthguard.
