Description Hybrid MMA training gloves with a gel knuckle pad, an open palm and a long elastic wrist wrap: the glove for classes that go from pad rounds to takedowns to ground and pound without a break to change gear. The half-finger design leaves the fingertips free for collar grips and wrist control, and the slip-on cuff wraps the wrist like a built-in hand wrap. ## Why fighters choose it Traditional 4 oz MMA gloves are built for fights, not for daily training, and they wear out fast on bags. These hybrid gloves put a thick gel and foam pad over the knuckles, which protects your hand on pads and bags, inside a stretch neoprene body that pulls on in seconds. The palm is open mesh, so you can grab, clinch and grip a rash guard, and the long elastic wrist strap gives support without the bulk of a separate wrap. They also work as inner gloves under boxing gloves for people who dislike wrapping. Because they slip on, you lose no class time between striking and grappling drills. - Gel and foam knuckle pad for bags and pads - Open mesh palm, free fingertips for grips - Long elastic wrist wrap, slip-on fit - Doubles as an inner glove under boxing gloves ## Fit and sizing One adult size. The stretch neoprene body and the long elastic wrist wrap fit most hands from about 7 to 10 inches (18 to 25 cm) around the palm below the knuckles. The gloves should feel tight when new; the knuckle pad should sit squarely over the knuckles when you make a fist, not slide toward the fingers. They are cut to go under boxing gloves, so expect a close fit rather than a loose one. ## Care Air them out after every session with the cuff folded back. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap every few weeks, squeeze out the water and dry away from heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry; heat breaks down the gel pad and the neoprene. ## Shipping and returns Drillz Shop ships to the United States only. FAQ
What are hybrid MMA gloves for? They cover the gap between boxing gloves and fight gloves: enough knuckle padding for bags and pads, an open palm for grappling, and a slip-on fit that lets you move between striking and takedown drills without changing gear. They are a training tool, not a competition glove.
Can I hit a heavy bag with MMA gloves? With these, yes, thanks to the gel knuckle pad, for moderate bag and pad sessions. For long heavy bag workouts or hard power rounds, boxing gloves with hand wraps still protect the hand better. Many people use the hybrid gloves for mixed classes and keep boxing gloves for bag days.
Do I need hand wraps under these gloves? Not required, because the elastic wrist strap gives wrap-like support, and many people use them precisely to skip wrapping. For hard striking rounds a thin wrap underneath adds knuckle protection, as long as the glove still closes comfortably. For grappling classes most people wear them bare.
What size MMA gloves should I get? One adult size. Measure around the palm below the knuckles without the thumb: anything from about 7 to 10 inches fits. The neoprene stretches with use, so a tight fit when new is normal, and the wrist wrap adjusts the tension.
Can I spar with hybrid MMA gloves? They are made for pads, bags and technical drilling, not for hard sparring. The knuckle pad is thinner than a sparring glove and there is no thumb protection. For sparring, follow your gym rules, which usually mean 7 oz MMA sparring gloves or 16 oz boxing gloves.
